MDC’s Soulard Access in Marion County Temporarily Closed

MARION COUNTY Mo – The Missouri Department of Conservation’s (MDC) Soulard Access, located off County Road 344 in northeast Marion County, is temporarily closed due to damage from recent flooding and high winds. Several large trees have blocked the entrance to the area. Due to the nature of the damage, large equipment is needed to make the repairs. This equipment is currently in use at other Conservation Areas also affected by recent storms.

The public is encouraged to use MDC’s Fabius Chute Access while the Soulard Access is closed. Fabius Chute Access is located a few mile away from Soulard and has a concrete boat ramp that provides access to the Mississippi, North, and Fabius Rivers.

To get to Fabius Chute Access, use County Road 332, approximately three miles north of Palmyra on Highway 61. Go east on 332 for two miles, then turn left onto County Road 342. Follow 342 for two miles. At this point 342 splits to the right and ends at Fabius Chute Access.
