St. Charles, Mo.— St. Louis-area shooting sports enthusiasts will be able to get a glimpse of what's in store for the new August A. Busch Shooting Range at an informational Open House Thursday, Aug. 28 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Missouri Department of Conservation's (MDC) shooting range on the August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area will be renovated, beginning in January 2015, into an expanded, state-of-the-art facility with additional shooting stations and a new classroom for hunter education programs.

Visitors may attend the Open House at their leisure and browse informational displays about the new range, including architectural drawings, simulated video flyover renderings, projected timelines and other construction details. MDC staff will be on hand to answer questions.

To facilitate the renovations, which will occur on the existing site, the shooting range will temporarily close for public use starting in January 2015 and remain closed for the duration of the 24-30 month renovation project. During the Open House, information will also be offered regarding other shooting resources and alternatives, provided by both MDC and private parties.

The Open House will take place at the MDC St. Louis Regional Office on the August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area, approximately three miles east of the shooting range location. The office is located at 2360 Highway D in St. Charles, two miles west of the intersection of Highway 94 and Route D.
