JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) in partnership with the Show-Me State Games will host a Missouri National Archery in the Schools Program (MoNASP) archery tournament as part of the games for the first time this year. The tournament will take place June 17 at Battle High School in Columbia.

The tournament is open to any fourth through twelfth grader who attends a school that offers MoNASP. The tournament gives students the opportunity to keep enjoying the lifetime sport of archery while school is out of session for most students.

Archery’s popularity is growing through MoNASP with more than 625 Missouri schools participating in the program.

“The growth of MoNASP has been tremendous over the past couple years,” said MDC MoNASP Coordinator Eric Edwards. “Students are connecting with family members, coaches, and teachers through archery. This connection and confidence gained through archery will spread into other parts of their lives.”
