MDC and partners hosting free Get Outdoors Day April 23 in Blue Springs

Kansas City, Mo. – Connect your family with nature this spring. The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) and partners will host a free Get Outdoors Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, at the Kemper Outdoor Education Center in Blue Springs. Co-hosts include Blue Springs Parks and Recreation and Jackson County Parks and Recreation.

This event will showcase activities people can do outdoors locally. Experts will offer hands-on help learning about fishing, kayaking, target archery, foraging for wild edibles, wildflower identification, and useful insects such as pollinators. The event will include exhibits and activities for all ages. Registration is not required. Event hosts will have all the equipment and materials needed to try out activities.
