COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will host a free seminar to provide an update on current tree health problems and emerging invasive tree pests that are likely to affect trees in Missouri during the next few years.
MDC invites tree professionals working as arborists, foresters, nurserymen, landscapers, public service workers, as well as master gardeners, master naturalists, and others interested in tree health to the seminar. MDC’s forest entomologist and pathologist will present this annual update on Feb. 21, from 1:30 – 4 p.m., at MDC’s Runge Nature Center, 330 Commerce Drive in Jefferson City.
“This update will provide new information about current tree health concerns in Missouri as well as new threats on the horizon,” said Forest Pathologist Simeon Wright. “Tree professionals and others interested in tree health are encouraged to come learn how to detect and manage these issues.”
These seminars qualify for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) with the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and the Society of American Foresters (SAF).
