MDC offers natural gift making class at Busch Conservation Area Dec. 2

St. CHARLES, Mo.—For a unique and meaningful gift, or a break from the hustle and crowds of the local mall, nature offers a welcome solution.  The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) is offering Nature Crafts, Nature’s Gifts, a class on creating presents made from natural items, Saturday, Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area in St. Charles.  The program is free and open to all ages.

Nature Crafts, Nature’s Gifts is a hands-on class that will demonstrate how to create decorative and useful items for very little cost using found items collected from the outdoors.  Visitors will make and take a variety of seasonal gifts at this festive event. Examples of gifts participants will learn how to create include snake-skin bookmarks, ornaments, mantle pieces, dipped candles, snowmen bird feeders, and much more.

The program is sure to appeal to those who enjoy crafts, or seek to give unique and personal gifts that are not mass-produced.  MDC naturalists will provide all materials and instruction.  Participants may arrive at any time during the event.  They may also bring home all projects they make.
