Carrollton, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will offer a free Wetland Management Field Day 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, starting in Carrollton. Attendees will meet at the Carrollton Public Library, 1 North Folger St. The field day will then include trips to nearby wetlands.

MDC wetland managers will lead the tours. They will provide advice about wildlife habitat management, maintenance, controlling problem animals and plants, and many other topics. Discussions will also include the benefits and challenges associated with wetland restoration. This is a chance for land managers to learn more about maintaining or restoring wetlands to benefit wildlife, native plants and hunting opportunities.

Soft drinks and snacks will be provided by MDC. Participants are asked to register in advance. For more information or to register, participants can call 660-646-6122. Anyone with particular topics of interest can inform MDC staff when they register. The event will occur rain or shine.

Information about wetland management is also available on the MDC website, mdc.mo.gov/your-property/improve-your-property/wetland-improvements-0.
