Warrensburg, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) and partners will offer a free Noxious Weeds and Invasive Plant Management Workshop 8 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 16, at the Warrensburg Community Center, 445 E. Gay St.

Invasive plants and noxious weeds harm recreation, wildlife and agriculture. Both public and private property owners are required by state law to control state-listed noxious weeds on their property. Invasive plants are more easily managed if they are identified and treated early.

Steve Hoel, MDC private land conservationist, will discuss identification and control of aggressive plant species that are currently a problem, or may become one, for landowners or public land managers. Participants will learn to recognize invasive plant species, learn why controls are needed and what options are available.

The workshop is presented by MDC, Citizens for Environmental Action, and Warrensburg Parks and Recreation.

Preregistration is required. To register, call 660-747-7178.
