Kansas City, Mo. – Invasive plants are a nuisance for property managers and harmful to natural ecosystems. The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will offer a free workshop on identifying and managing invasive plants from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, at the Burr Oak Woods Nature Center in Blue Springs.
MDC’s workshop will help homeowners and property managers understand the challenges posed by invasive plant species and some ways to control them. Nikki King, MDC naturalist, will discuss identification of invasives common to the Kansas City area, methods of removal, and ways to keep invading flora under control.
This workshop is for participants ages 18 and older. COVID-19 safety precautions will be followed. Registration is required. To register, visit https://short.mdc.mo.gov/4ob.
