MDC offering free ammunition reloading classes Feb. 10 near Blue Springs and Feb. 13 at Parkville

Kansas City, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation is offering free classes in reloading shotgun shells and brass cartridges. Reloading is a way to save money on ammunition but also a way to custom load shells for hunting or target shooting. Registration is required.

  • MDC’s Lake City Shooting Range near Blue Springs will offer a shotgun shell reloading class from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10. The class will cover basic materials, equipment, and techniques needed to reload shells. Participants will get a chance to reload some shells. MDC will provide all materials. This class is open to participants ages 11 and older. Those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. To register, visit http://short.mdc.mo.gov/4hK.
  • MDC’s Parma Woods Shooting Range will offer a Level 2 Reloading class for metallic cartridges from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13. This class is for those who already have a basic understanding of how reloading works for metallic cartridges. Staff will cover some basics, but they will also discuss tips to improve accuracy from reloads and how to efficiently load ammunition in bulk. MDC will provide all materials and equipment. Participants will get to do some reloading. This class is for participants ages 11 and older. To register, visit http://short.mdc.mo.gov/4hH.
