PERRY, Mo. — The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) invites women and girls age 14 years and older to discover nature at a weekend workshop this June.  The Discover Nature – Women Outdoor Skills Workshop will take place 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, and 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, at Mark Twain Lake State Park, near Perry.

MDC will partner with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Missouri State Parks, and Missouri State Highway Patrol to offer a safe and friendly environment where women experience hands-on outdoor skills training at the beginner level.

Taught by a team of longtime professionals, outdoor skills activities will include archery, shotgun and rifle shooting, Dutch oven cooking, fishing, nature crafts, geocaching, paddling, and safe boat operation on the lake.

Space is limited for this special outdoors opportunity, and participants must preregister by May 28 by visiting mdc-event-web.s3licensing.com/Event/EventDetails/156679.

Following registration, participants will receive a packet in the mail which includes an agenda, directions, and lodging information.
