COLUMBIA, Mo. —The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will hold a hunter education skills session March 29.  The class will take place from 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. at the MDC Central Regional Office located at 3500 East Gans Road in Columbia.

Students will learn how to be safe, responsible hunters in this course, and upon passing an exam, will earn a hunter education certification card.

“If you are interested in hunting this spring but still need your hunter education certificate, now is a great time to take the class before the spring rush starts and classes fill-up,” said MDC Education Consultant Kim Cole.

The Missouri Hunter Education Skills Session is the second half of the hunter education certification process. To attend this class, students must first complete the Missouri hunter education online course, or the chapter review questions inside the Missouri hunter education student manual.  Students must be 11 years old by March 29, 2016.  Registrants 16 years old and younger must present a birth certificate, or other proof of age to attend the course.

Attendees must register for this class by March 25.  To register, or to learn more about Missouri’s hunter education process, call Kim Cole at 573-815-7900, or visit http://huntfish.mdc.mo.gov/hunting-trapping/hunter-education-skills-training.
