MDC and partners will offer small acreage conference

St. Joseph, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) and partners will offer a Small Acreage and Land Entrepreneurs Conference 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, at Spratt Hall on the Missouri Western State University campus in St. Joseph. Conservation topics will include agroforestry, cover crops, attracting pollinators and soils. Agriculture topics will also be covered.

Partners for hosting the event include the U.S. Department of Agriculture and University of Missouri Extension. Farm topics addressed include beekeeping, blueberries and other land practices useful on small acreages.

The cost is $40 per person if received by Feb. 27, $60 per person after Feb. 27 or at the door. Youth can register for $25 by Feb. 27 or $30 after. To register, call 660-582-8101 or 816-279-1691. Information about the conference is available at http://bit.ly/2lTpgLP.
