Kansas City, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC), KCPT public television, and the PNC Grow Up Great program, will host a free event focused on being a caring neighbor to people and nature 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Anita B. Gorman Discovery Center, 4750 Troost Ave. A highlight will be an appearance by Daniel Tiger of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, a program on public television for children.

MDC staff will offer hands-on activities for all ages such as making wildflower seed balls and creating greeting cards with art prints taken from leaf rubbings. The Discovery Center’s Nature Nuts Storytelling time for children begins at 9 a.m. There will also be music by Mr. Stinky Feet, an appearance by the Stone Lion Puppet Theater at 2 p.m., and readings by Let’s Read With Literacy KC. Daniel Tiger will be present during the event to meet families and pose for photos.

Families can pre-register for the event at http://events.kcpt.org. Walk-ins are also welcome. Families are encouraged to bring a canned good to donate to Harvesters food bank, or a child or adult sweater or coat to donate to Synergy Services.
