PINE LAWN, Mo.—Missouri native plants can help beautify your yard or property sustainably while benefiting wildlife and those all-important pollinators. The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) invites you to join MDC at the Partners for Native Landscaping Native Plant Fair Sunday, April 10 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The fair will be held at the Beyond Housing Headquarters at 6506 Wright Way in Pine Lawn.
This event is an in-person part of the Native Landscaping Spring Webinar series; however, the event is also open to the public.
The Native Plant Fair will provide an excellent opportunity to learn about planting natives and answering any questions homeowners and gardeners might have. A team of experienced native plant gardeners will be available to offer guidance and answers. MDC and other community partners involved in native landscaping will have educational tables to provide more information and resources.
Beyond Housing staff will lead educational tours of the nearby rainscaping and bioretention installations along nearby Pasadena Blvd. so guests can see real-world native plantings.
Visitors will be able to purchase native plants available from Missouri Wildflowers Nursery, Forrest Keeling, and Papillon Perennials, who will all be onsite for the event. There will even be a native plant swap . . . participants are invited to bring their own Missouri native plants to share. Those doing so are asked to label them with both the common and botanical names. A variety of native landscaping books will be available for sale.

The Partners for Native Landscaping include MDC, Shaw Nature Reserve, St. Louis Audubon Society, St. Louis Community College, the St. Louis Chapter of Wild Ones, BiodiverseCity St. Louis, Metropolitan Sewer District’s Project Clear Stormwater, Grow Native!, and hosted by the St. Louis County Library.
