Red, blue, white, and green; what beautiful colors appear in spring! Learn about the beautiful blooms in spring and participate in some fun and flowery sensory activities and crafts. Babes in the Woods programs are designed to empower parents to introduce babies and toddlers ages 0–2 years to the sights, sounds, and textures of nature.

Join us April 20th to learn how to use the atlatl. This traditional hunting method is making a comeback! Whether you're looking for a fun activity to do with family/friends or are hoping to learn an alternative hunting method, this is a great activity to get outdoors.

Walk-in (ages 3-6) Discovering the amazing natural world is as easy as opening a book! This volunteer naturalist led story program is ideal for preschool - kindergarten children and will take them on journeys to learn about wildlife, habitats and more. If accommodations are needed, please e-mail the instructor at least one week prior to the program.

Celebrate the spring season by heading out on a scavenger hunt! It will be fun for the whole family as you search for signs of spring. There will be an easy, moderate, and difficult scavenger hunt available. Just drop by, select the scavenger hunt page of your choice, and return completed pages for a small prize.

Celebrate Earth Day all week with us! Learn how different plants, fungi, and even animals clean up the environment, also called bioremediation. This program will not be recorded. Please include a valid email address when you register so we can send you a virtual program link.

Witness a “marsh concert” presented by the toads and frogs of Missouri.

Join us for an evening out on the levees at the Marias Temps Clair Conservation Area. We will learn how to identify toads and frogs by their calls. Please bring a small flashlight, water, snacks, and dress for the weather.

Discover the basics of archery shooting. We will cover bow nomenclature and shooting techniques before we go shoot on the static archery range. You may bring your own bow to the program or use ours.

Celebrate Earth Day by reconnecting with nature. Join an MDC naturalist for a hike at Emmenegger Nature Park and enjoy a walk through the woods. While on this hike, learn about the benefits of being in nature and practice hands-on nature immersion techniques. This hike will take place on the Bluff Creek trail on the long loop, which measures to be about 2 miles long. Wear good walking shoes, dress for the weather, and be prepared for steep inclines and declines. Meet the naturalist at the trailhead located at the larger parking lot on the south end of the park.
